Story & Screenplay

Final Destination: Bloodlines follows Stefani (Kaitlyn Santa Juana), granddaughter of Iris (Gabrielle Rose/Brec Bassinger), who once had a premonition that saved multiple lives. Years later, Death comes calling for those originally spared, and Stefani sets out to prevent her family including her estranged mother, younger brother, and cousins—from dying in horrific accidents. With guidance from J.B. (Tony Todd) and the log book of premonitions, Stefani attempts to cheat fate.

Jon Watts, Guy Busick, and Lori Evans Taylor have crafted a story that is both unusual and chilling. The screenplay by Busick and Taylor keeps the audience on edge with several thrilling moments. However, the graphic and gory depiction of deaths may overwhelm some viewers. The film blends horror with a slight dash of humor, though the comedy rarely offsets the intensity of the fright. The climax, true to the franchise, is shocking and unpredictable.

Final Verdict

Final Destination: Bloodlines is a horror drama that delivers strong thrills and maintains the franchise’s signature suspense and shocking twists. While visually impressive and technically solid, the extreme gore and stiff competition from Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning may limit its box-office potential.

Box Office: Moderate prospects; will appeal primarily to horror fans and franchise loyalists.
